Land sector summit to focus on innovation and reforms

Primary movers, partners both at the national and international levels, and stakeholders of     the land sector in the Philippines will hash out strategies, solutions and opportunities to boost land administration and management reforms in the country in a forum to be held at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City on May 28.

Another milestone in the implementation of the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP2) is the launching of the country’s first and only formal and non-formal education programs on Land Administration and Management (LAM) graduate program to be pilot-tested at the Visayas State University (VSU) in Baybay, Leyte this schoolyear.
DENR welcomes signing of new free patent law

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) scores victory for the millions of Filipino landowners aspiring to have their land titled with the passage of the Free Patent Law that “will guarantee security of tenure to 39 millions of Filipinos over the lands they occupy and will clearly define property rights of the landowners, thus promoting greater social stability.”
LAMP2 introduces STROPS to improve land titling system

The Second Phase of the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP2) introduces a new strategy to pilot -test the land titling system in the country called Survey and Titling Roll Out Pilot Study (STROPS) which supports the progressive expansion of tenure security and the adoption of property valuation standards and procedures through sustainable partnerships agreements.
Ramos OK’s implementing rules and regulations of free patent law

Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Horacio Ramos finally approved the rules and regulations that will implement the Republic Act No. 10023, otherwise known as the Free Patent Act on Residential Land.
UPOU pioneers land valuation education, supports professionalization of real estate service practice

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) now bridges the gap in the real estate service practice as its partnership with the Department of Finance (DoF) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), under the second phase of the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP2), comes into fruition with the launching of the Continuing Professional Education Program on Land Valuation (CPEPLV), held recently at the UP campus.
